| Descripción | Welcome to the UAH Human Rights and Cultural Memory program, 2025! Throughout this program, you will reflect on the causes and social consequences of political violence, both during the dictatorship and in democracy, the difficulties in moving towards a more egalitarian and cohesive society, and the main struggles for social justice, the promotion of human rights, and transitional justice in Chile today. At the same time, you will review some of the most important works of literature and film within the last four decades. Readings and films will be discussed, focusing on the importance and complexities of human rights and memory as social practices. This program consists of two courses, featuring UAH professors, guest lecturers, various cultural tours, opportunities for volunteer work, and integration activities with UAH students, all of which will make this program an unforgettable experience. 1.
